Sixth Alice was started by Chris Hoffmann in 2005. Our philosophy then and now is simple and unchanged. We strive to achieve total customer satisfaction by designing and producing clothes that are well made, well priced and original. We believe that the key to a garment that you will love and wear again and again is a classic simple silhouette, fabulous fabric and fun trim.

We are based in Virginia which is where we produce all of our clothing except for the shirts. We feel very strongly about manufacturing in the US and feel lucky to be able to do so. We hope you appreciate this as well.

And finally we would like to answer the "big question" everybody asks. What does Sixth Alice stand for? In my family it has become a tradition among the women to name their first daughter Alice. The first Alice was born in the 1850’s and as it so happens each generation since then has had a daughter and named her Alice. Including myself. It is my daughter who is the "Sixth Alice" and the namesake of the company. Now if I could only get her to wear a skirt!
